Privacy policy
Effective: September 18, 2026
Last Updated: September 18, 2026
Parting, Inc., doing business as Parting Pro (“Parting Pro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.
This Policy applies when you:
- visit partingpro.com (the “Site”);
- use our software products and services (the “Services”);
- telephone a funeral home that uses our advertising and marketing services, where the call is placed to a telephone number we provide or manage; or
- otherwise communicate with us.
Our consumer funeral home directory at parting.com is governed by its own privacy policy.
If you called a funeral home, most of this Policy describes information about businesses and their staff, not about you. The section Calls to funeral homes is written for you.
If you are a California resident, see Your California privacy rights. If you live in another state with a comprehensive privacy law, see Other state privacy rights.
Our two roles
Your rights depend on which of two roles we are playing.
When we act for ourselves. On the Site and in the Services, we decide what information is collected and why. California law calls this being a “business.” This Policy governs, and you exercise your rights with us directly.
When we act for a funeral home. When you telephone a funeral home that uses our marketing services, the funeral home decides that calls are recorded and what is done with the results. We handle that information only on its instructions and only to perform the service it has engaged us for. California law calls this being a “service provider.” The funeral home’s own privacy policy governs, and requests about your call go to the funeral home, which we then assist.

Sensitive personal information
Through the Site and the Services, we do not collect sensitive personal information. We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver’s license or passport numbers, financial account numbers, precise location, racial or ethnic origin, union membership, biometric or genetic data, or the contents of your private messages with others.
We do handle sensitive personal information in one situation: recordings and transcripts of calls to funeral homes. A call about a death may include health information, such as where a death occurred or a medical circumstance, and it may include religious or philosophical beliefs, such as a preference for a particular rite. It is also a telephone conversation to which we are not the intended recipient.
We handle this information only to perform the service the funeral home has engaged us for. We do not use it to infer anything about you, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell or share it.
How we use personal information
To deliver and support the Services — provide and maintain our products, process payments, administer accounts, and answer inquiries.
To operate and improve the Site and the Services — understand how they are used, diagnose faults, and make them work better. Call recordings and transcripts are excluded from this purpose.
To provide call quality and training feedback — produce transcripts, summaries, and call-handling feedback for the individual funeral home that received a call.
To communicate with you — respond to you, send service notices, and, where permitted, send marketing about our products.
To advertise our own services — measure how our advertising performs and, with your consent, show you relevant advertising on other platforms.
To keep the Site and Services secure — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unlawful activity.
To meet legal obligations — comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our agreements.
To create aggregated and de-identified information for any lawful purpose. Call recordings and transcripts from funeral home clients are never included in aggregated or de-identified datasets.
We will not use your personal information for a materially different purpose without telling you first.
How we share personal information
Service providers. Companies that perform functions for us — hosting, content delivery, analytics, customer support, email delivery, payment processing, telephony, and transcription. Each is permitted to use your information only to perform that function for us and is bound to confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Advertising and analytics providers. Described in Cookies and similar technologies.
The funeral home that received your call. Recordings, transcripts, and call feedback go to that funeral home and to no one else.
Professional advisors. Lawyers, accountants, and auditors, where needed.
Legal and safety. Where required by law or valid legal process, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Parting Pro, our customers, or the public.
Corporate transactions. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. We will note any resulting change of ownership in this Policy.
At your direction or with your consent.
We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of advertising and analytics providers on the Site may amount to “sharing” under California law, and you can opt out — see Your California privacy rights. We never sell or share call recordings or transcripts.
Calls to funeral homes
This section is for families and members of the public who telephoned a funeral home.
What we do
Parting Pro provides advertising and marketing services to funeral homes. When a funeral home engages us, we may provide and manage the telephone numbers that appear in its advertising. Calls to those numbers ring at the funeral home and are answered by its staff.
We record and transcribe those calls so we can give the funeral home feedback on how its staff handled them — what information was gathered, what questions were answered, and how the caller was served. The purpose is to help that funeral home take better care of families.
You are told before the call begins
Before the call connects you will hear a notice that the call is recorded and transcribed by the funeral home’s marketing partner for quality and training. If you would prefer not to be recorded, tell the person who answers and the call can continue without recording. You may also hang up and call the funeral home on its own published number.
What we do and do not do with your call
We use your call only to serve the funeral home that received it. Specifically:
- We do not use recordings or transcripts from one funeral home to benefit another.
- We do not use them to build benchmarks, comparisons, or industry reports.
- We do not use them to train or improve our own products or software.
- We do not sell or share them, and we do not use them for advertising.
Access is limited to the personnel who prepare feedback for that funeral home.
What recordings may contain
A call to a funeral home usually concerns a death. A recording or transcript may therefore contain sensitive information about you, about the person who has died, and about family members who were not on the call. We treat all of it as confidential.
Providers who handle the audio
We use a telephony provider to carry and store calls and a transcription provider to produce written transcripts. Each is contractually limited to performing that function for us, is barred from using call content for its own purposes including training its own models, and operates under retention limits we set.
How long we keep calls
We keep call audio for 90 days and transcripts for 12 months, then delete them.
Your choices about a recorded call
Because the funeral home decides how call information is used, please direct requests to the funeral home you called; its privacy policy explains how. When a funeral home instructs us to provide, correct, or delete information from a call, we carry that out.
You may also write to privacy@partingpro.com. We will pass your request to the funeral home and help fulfill it.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies, scripts, pixels, and similar technologies on the Site, organized into four categories. Only the first category is active before you make a choice. Everything else is off by default and loads only after you accept it.
Strictly necessary — required for the Site to work, and cannot be switched off:
- Cloudflare (content delivery and security)
- Google reCAPTCHA (bot and abuse prevention)
- Cookiebot, operated by Cybot A/S (records your consent choices)
Preferences — remember choices you make so the Site behaves consistently for you.
Statistics — help us understand how the Site is used:
- Google Analytics 4
- Microsoft Clarity
- Hotjar
- New Relic
Marketing — measure advertising and, where you allow it, support advertising to you elsewhere:
- Google Ads
We also use HubSpot to manage contact details you submit through our forms and your interactions with our sales communications.
Trackers we have removed
The Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, and Microsoft Bing UET were previously present on the Site. All three were switched off on May 4, 2026 and are not active.
Managing your choices
A consent banner appears on your first visit and lets you accept everything, reject everything non-essential, or choose category by category. You can change your decision at any time through the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page. A complete, automatically maintained list of every cookie and tracker in use — with its provider, purpose, and lifetime — is available there.
If you reject a category, the technologies in it do not load and transmit nothing.
Video content
Some pages include videos hosted by YouTube and Vimeo.
These embeds are configured not to set cookies or contact the video provider until you press play. Once you start a video, the provider receives the information it needs to deliver it, which may include your IP address and which video you played.
We do not disclose your video viewing information to advertising partners, data brokers, or any third party for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell it. If we ever wanted to disclose video viewing information in a way that identified you, we would ask for your consent first, separately from this Policy.
Your choices
Your account. Review and update your details by signing in, or write to us.
Cookies and tracking. Use the consent banner or the Cookie Settings link in the footer. You can also set your browser to block or delete cookies, though parts of the Site may stop working.
Advertising. Opt out of interest-based advertising through the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), or Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com).
Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
Text messages. Reply STOP to any message.
Recorded calls. See Calls to funeral homes.
Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information from the browser that sends it. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals, as no common standard for them exists.
Your California privacy rights
This section supplements the rest of this Policy for California residents, under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”).
What we collect
In the past 12 months we collected these categories about California residents:
| Category | Examples | Collected |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, email, telephone number, IP address, account ID | Yes |
| Customer records | Mailing address, billing details | Yes |
| Commercial information | Subscription and purchase history | Yes |
| Internet or network activity | Pages viewed, links clicked, on-site searches, interaction with our ads | Yes |

| Professional information | Employer, job title | Yes |
| Audio information | Call recordings and transcripts, handled for funeral home clients | Yes |

| Biometric information | — | No |
| Precise geolocation | — | No |
Where it comes from: you, automatically from Site use, your telephone call to a funeral home client, analytics and advertising providers, other service providers, and public sources.
Why we collect it: delivering and supporting the Services, operating and improving the Site, call quality and training feedback for funeral home clients, communicating with you, advertising our own services, security, and legal compliance.
Who receives it: service providers, advertising and analytics providers, the individual funeral home that received your call, payment processors, professional advisors, authorities, and counterparties to a corporate transaction.
Sensitive personal information
We collect sensitive personal information only in call recordings and transcripts handled for funeral home clients, and we use it only to perform that service. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you.
You may direct us to limit our use of your sensitive personal information to what is necessary to perform the service. Write to privacy@partingpro.com, or contact the funeral home you called.
Sale and sharing
In the past 12 months we shared identifiers, internet or network activity, approximate geolocation, and inferences with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, as California law defines sharing. This reflects trackers that were active on the Site during part of that period. Since May 4, 2026 the Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, and Microsoft Bing UET have been switched off, and remaining Google tags run with advertising consent denied unless you grant it.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not sell or share call recordings or transcripts. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Your rights
- Know — what we collect about you, where it came from, why we collect it, and who receives it
- Delete — ask us to delete what we hold, subject to legal exceptions
- Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate information
- Opt out of sale or sharing — stop the sharing described above
- Limit use of sensitive personal information — as described above
- No retaliation — we will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights
If your request concerns a telephone call to a funeral home, contact that funeral home, which decides how call information is used. We will help it respond.
Making a request
To exercise the right to know, delete, correct, or limit: email privacy@partingpro.com, or use the request form linked in the Site footer.
To opt out of sale or sharing: use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer, reject the Marketing category in Cookie Settings, or send a GPC signal.
Verification. We will confirm your identity before acting on a request to know, delete, correct, or limit, by matching information you give us against our records.
Authorized agents. An agent may act for you with your written authorization. We may verify the agent’s identity and ask you to confirm the authorization.
Timing. We respond within 45 days, and may extend once by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary, telling you if we do.
Financial incentives. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for collecting, selling, or keeping personal information.
Other state privacy rights
If you live in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have rights comparable to those above — to know, delete, correct, and opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data — and in several states a right to appeal a refusal. Use the contact details above; if we refuse a request, our response will explain how to appeal.
Several of these states require opt-in consent before sensitive data is processed. Where that applies to a recorded call, consent is obtained through the funeral home that engaged us.
How long we keep information
| Information | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account data | Duration of the account, plus 3 years |
| Billing and transaction records | 7 years, for tax and accounting compliance |
| Marketing data | Until you unsubscribe, plus 3 years on our suppression list |
| Support communications | 3 years |
| Site analytics | 14 months |
| Call audio | 90 days |
| Call transcripts | 12 months |
| Backups | Per our backup rotation, after which copies expire |
We may keep information longer where the law requires it or where it is needed for an ongoing legal matter.
Text messages
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we use it to send the messages you asked for. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop and HELP for help. We do not sell mobile numbers, and we do not share them with third parties for their own marketing.
Other websites
The Site links to websites we do not operate, including parting.com, which has its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not control.
Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and destruction, including access controls on call recordings and transcripts. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Information transfers
Parting Pro operates in the United States, and information we collect is stored and processed there. If you contact us from another country, you understand that your information will be transferred to the United States.
Children
The Site and Services are intended for funeral professionals and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 through them.
Calls to funeral home clients are answered as they arrive. We do not ask a caller’s age and do not knowingly keep information about a caller we know to be under 16. If you believe we hold information about a child under 16, write to privacy@partingpro.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. When we do, we will post the new version here and change the dates at the top. If a change is material, we will give additional notice, such as a banner on the Site or an email to account holders.
